If You Could Drink Sunshine

My go-to drink only takes 2 minutes, 3 ingredients, and is sooo good for my body and soul!

There is something so soothing about a warm drink. Wrapping my hands around a steaming mug and breathing deep does something delicious to my soul. And while there are many options for whatever I could put in that cup, I have an absolute favorite.

Ready for it?

Hot water with lemon and honey.

Oh yeah. That’s what makes my body and my soul warm on most mornings between September and May. And sometimes in the summer too. I do live on the California coast, after all.

But really, that’s what does it for me. No caffeine, tannin, refined sugar, chemicals, etc. needed. I just heat up some water, squeeze in about a tablespoon of lemon juice and stir in about a tablespoon of raw honey.

Sip and smile.

And as a side note, I usually get a huge bag of lemons when they are in season–previously off my parents’ tree, but now I can get them off my very own tree! And I juice them all at once, pour the juice into ice cube trays, freeze and then put the cubes in freezer bags to use all year long. I just pop one of those cubes of juice in my water before I heat it and voila!

Sip and smile. Again.

If we could drink sunshine… this would be it.
